Goat Cheese Fig Burgers on Current Electric Grill

Recently, I tried my hand at making Goat Cheese Fig Burgers – and let me tell you, they were an absolute hit! Goat Cheese Fig Burger Recipe 

For the fig jam:

• 1 lb fresh figs, stemmed and chopped
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 1/4 cup water
• 1 tablespoon lemon juice
• Pinch of salt

For the burgers:

• 1 lb ground beef (or your choice of ground meat)
• 1/2 cup crumbled goat cheese
• 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
• 1 teaspoon garlic powder
• Salt and pepper, to taste
• Hamburger buns
• Arugula (or your favorite greens), for serving

Instructions:

1. Start by making the fig jam. In a medium saucepan, combine the chopped figs, sugar, water, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
2. Once the mixture is simmering, reduce the heat to low and let it cook for about 20-25 minutes, or until the figs are soft and the mixture has thickened to a jam-like consistency. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
3. While the fig jam is cooking, prepare the burger patties. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, crumbled goat cheese, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is evenly combined.
4. Divide the meat mixture into equal portions and form them into burger patties.
5. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, I set mine to 500F. Once hot, place the burger patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
6. During the last few minutes of grilling, toast the hamburger buns on the grill until lightly golden brown.
7. To assemble the burgers, spread a generous amount of the homemade fig jam on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Place a grilled burger patty on top of the jam, followed by a scoop of goat cheese, then add arugula to the top. 
8. Top with the other half of the bun and serve the Goat Cheese Fig Burgers and enjoy.
